Porofix® Wound Closure Strips
Windowed first-aid dressing, purpose-designed for adapting the wound edges in superficial stab wounds and incised wounds, or in lacerations; also suitable for relieving pressure on sutures. In the windowed area the plaster has an aluminized film backing on the wound side, which prevents the plaster from sticking to the wound. Discharge is able to drain away, and the wound can be checked visually. Unstretchable fabric with a high tensile strength, 100% viscose, skin coloured, coated with a skincompatible synthetic rubber adhesive.

Plaster strips with high adhesive power, made from poly - urethane reinforced with nonwoven material, supple, tear-resistant and non-elastic; coated with hypoallergenic poly - acrylate adhesive; for dependable, stitch-free wound closure; also for relieving pressure on sutures. By adapting the wound edges cleanly and over a wide area, the resulting scar is perfect in cosmetic terms. The local an aesthe - tic that is often required for a suture can be avoided; puncture channel infections, blood supply disorders in the suture area as well as the characteristic stitch marks are avoided. Rapid and safe access can be gained at either end of the strip if necessary. This is particularly useful where half-length wound closure strips are sufficient; they are simply cut in half, complete with carrier paper, before being peeled off.
